Tucker’s Triumph

Written and Directed by: Robert Dowling

Kalectiv produced this branded content film for the premium brewing company Timothy Taylor through their creative agency, 21:12 Communications.

The inspiration for Tucker's Triumph is the Lance Armstrong incident in 2003 where he was forced off the road, crossed a field and rejoined the race and A Sunday in Hell the 1976 classic documentary of the Paris-Roubaix race.

The 'Roy Tucker, rough of the pack' character is drawn from the comic heros 'Alf Tupper, tough of the track' and Roy (Race) of the Rovers. The original music is based on Led Zep's 'Bonzo's Montreux' plus kettle drums, orchestral and Yorkshire brass. It was shot over two rainy days in Yorkshire on and near the 2014 Tour de France route around Kettlewell and Haworth with the help of local, very wet, stoic cyclists and a happy crew.
